Editorial services for purpose-led publishers.

Hi, I'm Liz Bell.
I'm a freelance editor working across the public and non-profit sectors.

I specialise in editing print and online publications for charities, NGOs, education/research organisations, public bodies and government departments. I also offer copyediting services for non-fiction book publishers.

My services:

I offer a range of editorial services to suit your needs, from light-touch editing to improve the style, consistency and flow of your content, to significant re-structuring and even re-writing.

Copyediting

Publication may already represent a significant part of your organisation’s communications activity, in which case a copyedit might be all your content needs before it goes live. During a copyedit, I’ll resolve technical and typographical inaccuracies, smooth out style inconsistencies, and flag up any potential factual errors or other problems before it’s too late.

Structural editing

Content that has been collated from multiple sources, or written by several different people, often needs a bit more work before it’s ready for publication. A structural edit will ensure that your content hangs together and flows in a coherent, logical manner, while also being clear and accessible for its intended audience. This type of edit can also help to better align your content with your brand identity and tone of voice.

Content writing

If you have a lot of information to be condensed before it's ready to publish, or you’ve got some key messages but haven’t yet fully articulated them, you may need support with writing rather than editing. I’ll help you to identify key themes and draw out compelling narratives from your data, distilling complexity and transforming your ideas into powerful, accessible content that works for your audience.
